Suzan Koujan is an ambitious woman who considers every new day as an opportunity for learning, growing, and developing new skills. She graduated from Law school at the University of Aleppo with her dream to advocate for vulnerable people in society and ensure social justice and equity among all community members. With her determination and well, Suzan has become a registered Social Service Worker at Ontario Colleges of Social Work and Social Services Workers after completing her diploma in Social Service Worker program at Conestoga College. Suzan through her social services worker position at CAWA strives to empower women and supports their wellbeing during crisis and difficult time. With her excellent communication skills, she is able to provide a safe environment for women to share their struggles, pain, emotions, and challenges and work with them toward their own goals and achievements. Suzan is keen to improve women’s life in Waterloo Religion and Guelph Area by listening to their concerns and needs and linking them to local services and programs that develop their lives, situation, and mental/physical health. Suzan has a passion for working in a multi-cultural place that works for providing a supportive environment for client to match their values, culture, and language. Possesses an understanding of community, individual, family needs and rights and implementing the best practices to meet clients’ needs. Works from an anti-oppressive, strengths-based practice, recognizing the capacity for resilience and growth of individuals and communities. Provides outstanding welcoming environment and ensures everyone is inclusive in the community.
