She has been nursing since 2016 as a Registered Practical Nurse working within the First Nation communities on Manitoulin Island with Mnaamodzawin Health Services. She later moved into Retirement, Long Term Care facilities and once again returned to work within Wiikwemkoong Health Centre as a Foot Care Nurse. During her time at Wiikwemkoong Health Centre, she started to self-reflect on her practice as a RPN and realized that she had a new goal to further develop her knowledge to be able to work confidently with newborns, infants, and their families. With this new goal she knew she was ready to return to school, and fortunately received an acceptance letter for Mohawk College and McMaster’s Collaborative RPN to BSCN Bridging Program.
